Show us your alter ego!

Everyone knows that Halloween is the 31st of October and is fast approaching, but not everyone knows that here in Detroit we have another incredible opportunity to show of our costume talent in the form of Cosplay! On Saturday and Sunday the 3rd and 4th of November we’ll be at Hart Plaza to serve the hungry Youmacon guests. Youmacon is a convention held at Cobo Center based around Japanese culture, including anime and video games, so this is an awesome opportunity for showing your cosplay talent. Pre-order tickets might not be available anymore but you can definitely still buy them at the door. Make sure to check their website for all the details HERE.

Now, the best part is, we here at Hero or Villain see this as an opportunity for some extra fun! We’ve decided to hold a costume/cosplay competition. Photos of couples, groups or kids are all allowed too, so go wild. From super heroes and anime characters to princesses and furry animals, we want to see it all!

The contest will begin on Friday the 26th of October and end on Friday November 8th. Three winners will be announced on Friday November 16th. Each winner will receive a Hero or Villain T-shirt and 3 free meal vouchers! This will give everyone time to prepare, take and post photos and for us to choose our favorites AND for us to repost them for a public vote.

All YOU have to do is make sure you’re following us on your chosen social media platform, show us your awesome costume/cosplay and be happy for us to use and repost your photos if chosen.

On Instagram please post your photo and add @heroorvillainvan, as well as the hashtag #HoVContest

Twitter is very similar but post and add @heroorvillainFT, as well as the hashtag #HoVContest

On Facebook, you may either comment on this post with the link of our blog or send us a private message.

On Saturday the 9th of November we will choose our top costumes (the amount will depend on how many entries we receive) and post them for the public vote.

The three winners will be: 1. The winner of the public vote. 2. a random winner and 3. a winner chosen by the Hero or Villain team.

Now, let’s see what you’ve got!
